Implant-supported fixed prosthodontics is a technique that allows
patients who are also in situations of total edentulism (all teeth in an arch
are missing) to return to an optimal relational life. When bone conditions
allow, with the placement of only 4 dental implants in specific strategic
positions, it is possible to rehabilitate with fixed teeth even an entire arch of
12 upper or lower teeth. Just as a four-legged chair supports a person of
any weight, four dental implants can support an entire dental arch. The
positioning of these implants occurs through a single surgical procedure,
which consists of extracting the remaining teeth (if present and if they
cannot be recovered) and positioning the four dental implants.
